Mumar's Chocolate Brownies

Mumar, Mom, Mum, Momma, Mommsie, or Patsi, call her whatever, she makes a mean chocolate brownie! These brownies are from scratch, the frosting on the other hand...is not. Makes life that much easier though! WARNING: these are addictive.

Serves 20

Ingredients:

3/4 cup of all-purpose flour

1/3 cup of cocoa powder

1/4 tsp of salt

1 cup of white sugar

1/2 cup of shortening

2 eggs

3 tbsp of water

1 tsp of vanilla

1 tub of milk chocolate frosting *you may not use the whole tub

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 325 F. Grease an 8 inch square baking dish with butter. Set aside.

Step 2: Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt and white sugar. Make sure these ingredients are really well sifted and incorporated.

Step 3: In your electric stand mixer or in a large bowl with a hand mixer, beat together the shortening, eggs, water and vanilla until well mixed.

Step 4: On low speed, add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until mixed. Don't over mix this mixture though.

Step 5: Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the brownies have set and are starting to come away from the sides of the dish.

Step 6: Let the brownies cool at room temperature before frosting the brownies.

Step 7: Cut the brownies to make 20 squares and enjoy! Have fun fitting into your jeans tomorrow.
