Flatbread Pizza

I love pizza. I could probably eat it everyday. I always feel good when we make homemade pizza, because I get to control the ingredients. But then I end up eating half the pizza so I'm back to square one.

I have found a solution! Flatbread as the crust. I came across Lavash flatbread at the grocery store. It's main purpose appeared to be for wraps, but it reeked of pizza. Lavash bread is an Armenian traditional bread. Very thin and delicious. Try and find it in whole wheat!

Ingredients:

1 flatbread or Lavash flatbread

1/3 cup of pizza sauce, or however much you prefer

1 tsp of red pepper flakes

red and green bell pepper, chopped

pepperoni or salami

mozzarella cheese, grated

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400F. Place the flatbread on a baking sheet. Add the pizza sauce, leaving a small crust. Sprinkle on the red pepper flakes, then the pepperoni. Add the diced veggies and finish off with the mozza cheese.

Step 2: Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is nicely melted and golden in colour.

*You can add whatever veggies you'd like. Sometimes I prefer a simple pizza best.
