1 can of water chestnuts, drained 1 pound of bacon (you may not need the whole pound!) 1 cup of ketchup 3/4 cup of white sugar Tabasco sauce 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp soy sauce toothpicks Directions Step 1: Cut each bacon slice into halves. Wrap the bacon around the water chestnuts. Insert toothpick in the middle to secure the bacon and water chestnut. Step 2: Put each water chestnut on a baking sheet and broil them until the bacon is cooked. Step 3: To make the sauce, add the ketchup, sugar, few shakes of the Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce in a saucepan and cook until the sugar dissolves. Step 4: Put the water chestnuts in a casserole dish and pour the sauce over top. Put back in the oven for a few minutes so everything is warmed. Serve hot. *For something different, serve plain bacon-wrapped water chestnuts with Thai Dipping Sauce. |
