Chocolate Chewy Squares

AKA "Marathon Squares". Oh why are they called marathon squares? Well, we have a friend of the family who is very athletic and likes to participate in the local marathon (actually it might be a triathlon), anywho, we make these squares and sit and watch him run. We are healthy.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, melted

1 can condensed milk

2 cups of shredded coconut

2 cups of graham wafer crumbs

4 thin Dairy Milk or Jersey Milk chocolate bars (must be milk chocolate)

1 tbsp Crisco shortening or butter

Directions:

Step 1: Mix together the melted butter, graham wafer crumbs, condensed milk and coconut. Press into a 9 X 9 baking pan.

Step 2: Melt the chocolate bars with 1 tbsp of the shortening in the microwave or over a double broiler. Make sure the chocolate doesn't burn and make sure it's completely melted. Pour this over the mixture, and spread evenly. Let cool in the fridge until able to cut into squares (should be able to make 36 ).
