This is a great sauce for Chicken Souvlaki. The key ingredient is to use Greek style plain yogurt. This gives the sauce a nice creamy texture.
Traditionally, tzatziki calls for fresh mint. I add it whenever I have it, but this recipe is fine without it.
1 cup of Greek style plain yogurt
4 tbsp of sour cream
1 garlic clove finely minced
1 cucumber, peeled and grated
2 tbsp of lemon juice, or more if preferred
Salt and pepper
Step 1: Peel your cucumber and grate it as you would cheese. Squeeze out the water from the cucumber with your hands.
Step 2: In a bowl, add your yogurt, sour cream, garlic and cucumber. Mix together, season with salt and pepper, and adding lemon juice to your preference.
