Bruschetta
Serves 20, depending on the size of the loaf
Ingredients:
1 loaf of fresh baguette, either whole wheat or white, cut into 1/2 inch slices
2 plum or Roma tomatoes, cut in half lengthwise then into slices
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup of butter, at room temperature
1/2 tsp of garlic salt/powder
black pepper
olive oil
dried oregano
freshly grated Parmesan cheese
fresh basil leaves, one for each slice of bread
Directions:
Step 1: Set your oven to broil. Mix together the butter, minced garlic, garlic salt and season with black pepper. Spread a little bit of the butter on each of the sliced pieces of baguette. Toast in the oven until lightly browned.
Step 2: Take the baguette slices out of the oven and put a little bit of Parmesan cheese on each of the slices of bread. Put a slice of tomato on top of the cheese. Place of whole basil leaf on top of the tomato and drizzle a little bit of olive oil over top and sprinkle with oregano, serve warm.
