Creamy Rose Sauce with Chicken & Sausage

2 uncooked Spicy Italian Sausage

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts*

1 green pepper, cut into strips

Olive oil

2 tbsp of Blackening Seasonings

1/2 cup of grated Parmesan Cheese

3 oz cream cheese

4 cups of Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

1 lb penne pasta, whole wheat

salt & pepper to season

Step 1: Cook sausages however you prefer, whether it being on the BBQ, frying pan or as I prefer, poaching them in boiling water in a frying pan. After cooked, let rest on a plate to cool. When cooled, slice.

Step2: Season chicken breasts with the Blackening Seasonings. In a frying pan, over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Add chicken, cook until juices are clear, roughly 7 minutes per side. Let rest on a plate until cooled, then cut into strips. Reserve with sausages.

Step 3: Cook pasta, according to package. Drain and reserve.

Step 4: Add spaghetti sauce to a large pot over low-medium heat. Add cream cheese and Parmesan cheese. Mix well until there are no more lumps of cream cheese present. Add the green pepper, chicken and sausage and allow to cook for 8 minutes or so. Make sure you don't let the green peppers cook too long since they can get soggy. Add the cooked pasta, mix well.

Serve with a little bit of shredded Parmesan on top.

*You can use bone-in chicken breasts and roast them like the Spicy Roasted Chicken recipe, then shred the chicken and add to the pot.
